Discussion guides are key qualitative research tools used to lead participants through deeper thoughts and concepts using a variety of methods such as in-depth interviews, dyads, triads, and focus groups.

The first example below is an in-depth interview discussion guide to gather opinions regarding a rebranded loss prevention convention. The second discussion guide is for a focus group designed to determine nurses’ opinions on a new tourniquet system used during surgery.
